Los Angeles, CA · The Original Farmers Market, Stall 416
Updated
Local Ice makes organic ice cream and dairy-free New York style Italian ice on site at LA's Original Farmers Market. They had a shop people love and no working website — their old address had been answering with a server error since March 2026, and the “Website” button on their Google listing sent people to Instagram instead. We built them a site, put it live on their own domain, and pointed that button at it.
The site we built
local-ice.org

Their old domain had been dead since 17 March 2026 — the name was still paid up, but the server behind it answered with an error to anyone who typed it in. Nobody had told them, because nothing visibly breaks. A dead website does not send you a notice.
Meanwhile the “Website” button on their Google listing — the one people tap after they have already decided to look them up — pointed at an Instagram profile. Every one of those taps landed somewhere that could not tell you the hours, the stall number, or what was in the case that day.
Building a site and leaving that button alone would have been the same problem in a new coat. So the button was part of the job, not a follow-up to it.

Every fact on the page was read off a live source on launch day, not copied from an older document. This is the part most sites skip, and it is the part that decides whether the page is still true in six months.
| Checked | Against | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Phone number, star rating, and all seven days of hours | the live Google listing | Match |
| Closing-time claims | the Farmers Market's own published hours | Correct on all seven days |
| Every outbound link — socials, both map links | opened one at a time in a real browser | All live |
| The page served over a real web server | automated browser run | Zero console errors, zero failed requests, all images load |
| Link and button colour contrast | WCAG AA (4.5:1) | 8.66:1 and 11.10:1 — measured, not eyeballed |
The site went live on . We took a full reading of their Google numbers before we changed anything, and we will take the same reading again 30 days after the listing button was repointed.
Until those two readings sit side by side, there is no results number to show you, so we are not showing one. When there is, it goes here — the honest one, whatever it says.
